Assistant Facilities Engineer, £17ph, City of London

PAYE, Temporary 1 month

Luxury fitness and wellness company require a skilled and dedicated Facilities engineer to carry out ongoing and planned maintenance work to ensure the clubs remain safe, efficient and pristine.

Duties:

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and respond to reactive maintenance needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine service visits and inspections.
  • Inspect and maintain plant rooms, machinery areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Learn and manage the pool plant system, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Prioritise and complete daily work orders, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform general repairs, including lighting, minor plumbing, and basic carpentry.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) to control environmental systems.
  • Support the fire life safety systems, ensuring regular checks and compliance.
  • Maintain a detailed maintenance log and report progress to senior team members.
  • Follow all Health & Safety (H&S) regulations and company procedures.
  • Be flexible to support out-of-hours maintenance or emergency tasks.

Duties:

  • Proven Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Technician experience
  • Knowledge of AC/HVAC systems including filter cleaning and general servicing
  • Swimming pool plant experience
  • Well presented with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
  • Confident in communicating with members, colleagues, and senior managers.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a team player.
  • Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to undertake task-specific training (e.g., manual handling, ladder safety).
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

This is a temporary role to start immediately.
