Are you an experienced and dynamic office manager with a passion for organisation, efficiency, and team leadership? My client is looking for an Office Support Services Manager to join their operations in Elstree, Borehamwood on a 12 month maternity contract.

About the Role

As the Office Support Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of administrative and support services across the Services Department. You’ll be at the heart of team coordination, executive support, helpdesk operations, and interdepartmental communications—bringing efficiency, structure, and energy to everything you do.

You will be working closely with senior management and multiple internal teams, overseeing helpdesk support, managing office staff, and streamlining operational procedures to enhance productivity and service delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Group Laboratory Services.
  • Assist the Helpdesk team, overseeing task allocation, performance, and improvement.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and prompt response.
  • Coordinate meetings, manage diaries, and track project deliverables.
  • Oversee procurement processes, logistics, and warehouse support for client orders.
  • Analyse service desk data to inform process improvements and resource planning.
  • Handle escalated customer service issues, ensuring efficient resolution.
  • Support other departments as needed across the Laboratory Services network.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proven experience managing teams and coordinating office operations.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office and diary management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and manage time effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-driven approach.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of healthcare supply chains and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 15189, MHRA).
