My client leading global pathology organisation, supporting healthcare providers with high‑quality diagnostic services worldwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Laboratory Customer Service professional to join our busy service centre based in Central London.


About the Role

This role sits at the heart of our laboratory service operation. You’ll be the main point of contact for patients, GP surgeries, hospitals, laboratories, and internal support teams, ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently, professionally, and with care.

The work is varied and rewarding, combining inbound and outbound telephone calls, electronic communication, and essential administration throughout the day.

Salary: £28,808 per annum.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high‑quality customer support to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Handling both simple and complex enquiries via phone and electronic channels
  • Communicating clearly with laboratories, clinicians, and internal departments
  • Using your science background to explain information in an accessible way
  • Managing administration tasks accurately alongside a high volume of calls
  • Ensuring each interaction reflects excellent customer service standards

What We’re Looking For

  • A Biomedical degree graduate or equivalent which is essential
  • Experience working in a busy service centre or contact centre environment
  • Confidence handling high volumes of telephone calls alongside admin work
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
  • Degree educated, ideally in a science subject (biological sciences particularly beneficial)
  • Comfortable working as part of a large, collaborative team (around 30 staff)
  • Proficient in using multiple systems and the Microsoft Office suite

Working Pattern & Location

  • Full‑time: 40 hours per week
  • Shifts between 07:00 and 23:00, Monday to Friday
  • Flexibility required to work:
    • Saturdays: 07:00–23:00
    • Sundays: 09:00–18:00
    • Bank Holidays: 09:00–17:30
  • Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts are paid as overtime
  • Hybrid working: office‑based in Central London, with weekends and Bank Holidays worked from home
